Hi! By way of introduction my name is Brenda and my husband is Michael. Nice to meet you! The following is a tale of horror as to how ecomicbookshop.com came to life.
My husband taught me to sell on eBay about six years. I got serious about selling three years ago and it was fun learning how eBay functioned. I enjoyed being a seller because I knew I had quality items and my buyers were always pleased with the quality of their item, the fast ship and the security measures I took with shipping their item.
I thought in order to be a good seller I had to know what it was like to be a buyer and so I began purchasing items on eBay and many other e-stores. Although my experience was generally very good, I discovered how important it is that the sellers represent their product honestly and with as many photographs as possible. I also learned if an item is not shipped properly, it can arrive damaged. I learned many things about selling from being the buyer. I really enjoy buying on the internet because I can always find what I want and I can shop for quality, price & shipping methods. I think being an internet buyer makes me a better internet seller.
About 18 months ago (Winter 2006-2007), Michael and I went to an auction and we saw a quantity of older comic books. They appeared to be in reasonable condition so I bid on a number of boxes and I won some of the auctions and the comics (which at the time I knew nothing about) turned out to be some really cool issues of The Green Lantern, Spider-Man, some stuff I never heard of before, old Indiana Jones and the list goes on from there. I brought the comics home, organized them, sold a few on eBay and read many of them. I found my favorites were based in the genre of horror and science fiction. I think I tend to cross over to some fantasy as well but my heart is definitely defined by the horror comics.
Soon after that auction a friend emailed me about Stephen King’s the Dark Tower Series coming out in comic books. She knew I have read the Dark Tower Book Series several times and she thought I would be interested in this media. Little did she know what she was starting!

With my initial purchase of The Gunslinger Born #1 in April of 2007, I have become a comic book enthusiast. I massed an amazing collection of Hellblazer, The Punisher, Man-Thing, Hellboy, Buffy and the list goes on from there. I had so much fun that my other eBay selling slowed to a crawl. I just wanted to work with comic books.
Having taken numerous web-page building classes with Michael, I once again, approached him with yet another idea. He has taught me everything I know about computers and I knew I would need his help with this endeavor. I was impressed that he actually raised his eyebrows at my initial suggestion to have an online comic book shop and he hasn’t stopped. He helped me get this store up and running, working out all of the details (and there are many). He offers great suggestions! I didn’t know I had a closet-comic-book expert in the house. Surprises never cease.
Anyhow Michael and I are working hard to bring a collection of horror comic books to you. We are also including some science fiction and additional shockers!
